Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra (WCYO) is a non-profit organization with the mission to educate and inspire young musicians through the study and performance of classical and contemporary musical works, participation in enrichment activities, and engagement in the community. WCYO is comprised of three primary ensembles; Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, and the Charles Ives Music Festival; a chamber music education and performance program. Hundreds of youth musicians from 5th to 12th grade have been members of our ensembles since the organization’s inception in 2002. All find a place of acceptance and encouragement in the WCYO, while developing their talent and love of music.
